The collaboration between Liceo Statale Virgilio (a high school in Pozzuoli) and Aeneas Route Association has just ended, marking the fourth consecutive school year of this partnership. Following a presentation of Aeneas Route Cultural Itinerary, the eleven first-year classes of scientific, linguistic and humanities subjects participated in a reading laboratory, in which they worked on the book Sulla Rotta di Enea (Following Aeneas Route) by B. Angolini and M. Teresa Moccia di Fraia.
The project was designed as a journey in different legs. The first one, in class with the teachers, was based on the book reading and analysis. After that, there was a debate with the authors on the publishing project’s birth and development, which covered the verbal and visual techniques used. Each student, taking inspiration from poetry and pictures from the book, had the opportunity to unleash their imagination and reinvent Virgil’s work, making the laboratory an active place where one can think about the universal values that make the Aeneid a relevant and alive work.
